Gado-Gado, Indonesian Salad that is worth to try !

Gado-gado is one of the most delicious food in Indonesia. You can easily find gado-gado in every corner of the whole city in Indonesia. According to history, Gado-gado was firstly created by the Betawi, the native ethnic of Jakarta and it was spread through out Indonesia by the Javanese people that migrate out of java island. Many Indonesian like to eat Gado-gado especially those who want to get diet. It is easy to make and here is the recipes of Gado-gado that is worth to try..1

Materials
• 350 g potatoes, boiled, fry, cut into pieces
• 350 g white tofu
• 350 g Tempe/ Fermented Soybean cake
• 7 leaf lettuce, tear apart
• 2 cucumbers, thinly sliced
• 100 g sprouts, boiled
• 200 g cauliflower, coarse slice, boiled
• Oil, (Olive oil or Palm oil)

Peanut Sauce as dressing

• Peanuts: 200 grams
• Red chili: 5 pieces, tastes
• Cayenne pepper: 2 pieces, tastes
• Garlic: 3 large-size cloves
• Lime: 1 piece
• Brown sugar: add a litte, but if you like sweat gado-gado, you can add it more
• Salt, Sufficiently
• Cooking oil: sufficiently just to stir-fry
• Sweet soy sauce:

Complementary ingredients  for Gado Gado,

·         Fried Onion

·         Boiled Egg

·         Crackers/Kerupuk 

*In Indonesia we used to add some fried onions and Crackers/Kerupuk, and Boiled Egg

How To Make

1. Fry peanuts with small flame until it is cooked
2. Stir-fry the red chili, cayenne pepper, and garlic.
3. After that Blend them until smooth (red chili, cayenne pepper, garlic, brown sugar, and salt)
4. Add fried peanuts and blend it again. you can use blender to get faster result
5. Next add enough boiled water and stir it and add lime juice. When you get it done, the sauce is ready to pour on the gado-gado.
6. Take the plate and set up the vegetables, then add the sauce, little soy sauce, and sprinkle with fried onions.
7. Add the crackers and Boiled Egg
8. The Gado-gado is ready to serve
